I’ve been doing Perl since c.1998, mostly self-taught. I learnt it because I was running a number of website at the time, and I wanted some interactivity, and Perl was the web language at the time.

Since then, Perl has been my main form of employment (aside from the times I was studying), until recently, when I’ve been doing a bit of Java.

Despite not a lot of Perl work going on in my current job, I’ve been doing a lot on my game Kingdoms, using Catalyst, DBIx::Class and – more recently – Moose.

Beyond programming (but still in technology), I’m pretty interested in Agile, and “Methodologies”, and how they work in the real world. I’ve been involved in websites for a long long time, so am interested in all aspects of the technology, including the wider implications for society.
